Essex Pre-1900 record/s; VC18 pre-1970 record/s.

Species text
This is a tiny black rove beetle with a widely scattered distribution in England and also recorded in North East Scotland. There are no other recent Essex records (P. Hammond, pers. comm.). It is probably associated with pasture and gardens. The species has been found in dung, much decayed grass cuttings and compost heaps. References
